Brazil (inner) World Cup

The 2014 World Cup in Brazil – the famous soccer nation – motivated many social reactions along the country before, during and after the event. The enormous financial investment of the government in the construction of new football stadiums and corresponding routes connecting them, as well as other related expenses – which, according to most locals did not match the Brazilian reality and its social needs – was severely criticized. Unhappy with the governmental priorities regarding the World Cup – as for instance improvements in the health and education sectors were reduced – many citizens protested and reclaimed while the World Cup Organization and Govern acted to constrain them and to stall eventual disorders that might be broadcasted by the media.
